Alejandro Godoy Gabarró was born in Chile, South America. He left his country as a university student following the military coup of September 11, 1973 that overthrew the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende. He lived for a few years in different countries in Latin America as an exile. Since 1977 he has lived in the United States. The author practices psychotherapy in New York where he lives with his wife. He continues to write about events that occurred in Chile and enjoys composing music to Latin American poetry.
