About the Author

Elisa LaPenna Sheronas is a life-long learner/Alumna from Rosemont College, having earned her MFA in Creative Writing in 2015, almost 50 years to the day after she was awarded a BA in Biology. She was involved in music for most of her life until she lost her hearing and her ability to sing in 2008. She started writing serious poetry when her middle son, David, returned from a tour of duty in Iraq in 2004, and found that experience less wrenching when she wrote about it. She was encouraged to pursue the MFA by her daughter, Roberta, who was working on the same degree in Fiction Writing.  A passionate observer of life and people, she expresses that passion in her poems. She lives in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania with Victor, her husband of 52 years. Besides their families of origin, they have 5 children, 5 children-in-law and 11 grandchildren, all of whom give her lots of ideas and experiences to write about.

This is her first book of poetry.
